zkSync Era is an EVM‑compatible zk‑rollup that emphasizes low fees and fast confirmations with validity proofs posted to Ethereum. Most Solidity code ports without changes, but as with any zkEVM, edge cases around precompiles and gas accounting are worth testing. Era also leans into account abstraction, enabling more flexible wallet UX out of the box. For settlement‑sensitive apps, understand proof posting cadence and the distinction between L2 execution finality and L1 proof inclusion.
