# Metis

Metis is an **Optimistic Rollup** pursuing sequencer decentralization to mitigate single‑operator risk and improve censorship resistance. For builders, it behaves as a familiar EVM L2 with low fees and standard tooling; the main integration considerations are withdrawal windows and the evolving decentralization roadmap if your application has strict liveness requirements.
